Pregnancy Testing

Pregnancy Testing

There are two types of testing for pregnancy; urine or blood:

  • Urine pregnancy tests can be done either at home or in a Physicians office.
  • The blood test needs to be done by a Physician.

Pregnancy tests are designed to tell if your urine or blood contains a hormone called human chorionic gonadotrpin (hCG). This hormone is produced shortly after an egg is fertilized and is detectable about six days after fertilization. If you're pregnant, levles of hCG continue to increase rapidly, doubling every two to three days.

Symptoms of pregnancy:

  • Missed period
  • Fatigue
  • Nausea
  • Breast Tenderness
  • Urinary Frequency
